RICHARD, RITA - 1924 - 2013 – Memramcook, N.-B. – Rita (Euphemie) Richard, 89, passed away peacefully, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 21, 2013. Born in Haute-Aboujagane, NB on October 13, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Melina (Landry) Melanson. Rita was a kind and generous person who never asked for much but appreciated life’s simplest things; she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother; devoting much of her life to her family. She will be sadly missed by Herve, her husband of 62 years, two sons, Bernard Richard and Normand (Nancy) Richard, three daughters, Jeannette (Mike) Sears, Lorraine (Fernand) LeBlanc), Patricia LeBlanc and daughter in law Janice Richard all of Memramcook, her precious and cherished grandchildren Christine, Daniel, Joline, Jeremy, Adam, Melanie, Corey, Mathieu, Alex, Erika and a special great grandson Mason; one brother, Joseph Melanson of Shediac Bridge and by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one son, Gerry (2010); brothers Edward, Napoleon, Theophile, Alcide and Arcade; two sisters Marie and Anita.
Visitations will be held at Dupuis Funeral Home 15 Rte La Vallee, Memramcook on Sunday November 24 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and on Monday November 25 from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Funeral mass will be held at Saint Thomas de Memramcook church, St-Joseph on Monday November 25 at 11:00 am. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of “La Colombe”, Villa Providence Shediac for the excellent care given to our mother over the past year as well as a sincere Thank You to the staff of the the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, especially the Palliative care unit for your kindness and compassion during her final days.
