MOOD, Lorne “Max”- 85, was called home to meet his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 with his family by his side. Born in Yarmouth Co., on April 13, 1928 he was the son of Lawrence and Vera (Crowell) Mood. He spent many years in the logging/trucking business hauling not only logs, but firewood to many in Yarmouth County. He loved farming, having blueberries, cattle, horses, and was especially fond of his oxen. Max enjoyed many family hunting trips to Dugas Lake with his oxen over the years. Max is survived by his loving wife, Elaine (Gray) East Kemptville, Yarmouth Co., N.S.; his mother, Vera (Crowell) Mood, The Meadows Nursing Home, Yarmouth, N.S.; sons, Kevin (Marilyn), Bridgewater, N.S.; Kendrick (Carolyn), East Kemptville, Yarmouth Co., N.S.; Derek (Jean), East Kemptville, Yarmouth Co., N.S.; daughters, Sandra (Wayne) Hayes, New Maryland N.B.; Heather Mood ( Harold Buzzell), Smithfield, Maine; grandchildren, Krista, Karen, Kara, Meagan, Trevor, Ryan, Darren, Cole; and 5 great-grandsons; brothers, Roger (Hazel), Richfield, Digby Co., N.S.; Garth (Amy), Wellington, Yarmouth Co., N.S.; Gladys (William) Goodwin, Kemptville, Yarmouth Co., N.S.; Linda (Scott) Ring, Kemptville, Yarmouth Co., N.S. He was predeceased by his father, Lawrence Mood. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Friday, November 29, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 2 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Joey Ring and Rev Richard Fowler officiated. Interment followed in Hatfield Memorial Cemetery.
