The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her family on Monday, October 6, 2008, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital of Betty Douglas, aged 88 years young. Beloved mother of Joan (Pat Desmarais), Len, David (Marie), Anita, Judy (Garry O’Brien), Jamie, Lester and Jane (Lloyd O’Brien). Very special grandmother to 29 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, Coffin Douglas, her son, Paul, her infant daughter, Shirley, her eight brothers and one sister. Remains resting at the North Shore Funeral Home, Morell, on Thursday, October 9, 2008, for visitation from 6 to 9 p.m. Completed funeral arrangements announced later. Memorial donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation or the West St. Peters Cemetery Fund. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the North Shore Funeral Home, Morell.
