HANSCOM, BERNADETTE ANGELA - It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Bernadette Angela Hanscom which occurred at St. Joseph's Hospital on Thursday, November 28th, 2013. Born 1923, in Medford, Victoria Co., NB, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Velma (McQuade) Baker. Bernadette was a homemaker and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #69 for many years. She was also an active member of the United Pentecostal Church. Bernadette will be greatly missed by her sons Maynard (Xiaowel) and Theodore Hanscom of Alberta; daughters Lorenda Larsen (Thomas) of Saint John, Noreen Allman of North Carolina, Cindy Christensen (Bruce) of Alberta; brother Lewis Baker (Dorothy) of Victoria Co., NB; sister Tressa Millard of Victoria Co., NB; 16 grandchildren; several great- grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, Bernadette was predeceased by her husband Bernie in 2002, daughter Elouise LeBlanc, brothers Marchie, Chester, Vincent and Basil Baker and sisters Mary Baker, Jean McQuade, Emma Johnston and Eileen Hanscom.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Saturday, November 30th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Sunday, December 1st at 2 p.m. Interment will follow on Monday at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
