The death occurred at his residence in Charlottetown, on Monday, October 6, 2008, of James Allan Downey, formerly of Tarantum, age 67 years. He is survived by his daughter, Laura (Paul Thompson); son, Christopher (Nicole Acorn); wife, Mary (nee Garland); and aunt, Anna Dobrowolsky. Beloved grandfather of Chelsea and Faith Thompson. James was predeceased by his parents, James and Laura Downey (nee Hughes) and special relatives, Bernard and Margaret Coyle and Michael and Anthony Dobrowolsky. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford, for visitation on Thursday, October 9, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10, at Hillsboro Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place later. If so desired, donations may be made to the Provincial Addictions Treatment Facility. Completion of funeral arrangements has been entrusted to Hillsboro Funeral Home.
