STEVENSON, BERTIE - The death of Bertie Stevenson of Saint John, formerly of Fredericton, beloved wife of John Stevenson occurred on Sunday, December 1, 2013, at Carleton Kirk Lodge. Born in Saint John on February 4, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Myrtle (Logan) MacNamara. Bertie was a faithful member of Fredericton Brunswick Street Baptist Church and in her younger years was very active in church activities. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by UNB in food services. She devoted her life to caring for the needs of those she loved and always enjoyed spending her summers at Grand Lake with family and friends. In addition to her husband, Bertie is also survived by her sons, Allan (Kierlyn) of Saint John, Eric of Lincoln and David of Fredericton; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sister, Freda Purdy and brothers, Russell and Donald.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425). The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Bay View Chapel on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery, at a later date.
