Myrtle passed away peacefully on November 24, 2013 with family by her side. She was born on January 16, 1922 in Moose Jaw to Frank and Janet Grant. Myrtle served as a CWAC in World War II. After the war, she married Leonard Newberry on November 17, 1945. They farmed in the Baildon district where she remained until her passing. Myrtle is predeceased by her husband Leonard; sisters Francis, Olive, Dorothy, Gladys and Kathleen and sister-in-law Dorothy. She is survived by her brother Gord; son Glenn; daughter Glennis (Rob); granddaughters Kathy (Ray), Sheri (Darren); great-granddaughters Stephanie, Fawne, Paige, Jessica and numerous nieces and nephews. She enjoyed reading, spending time with family and planting flowers in the summer. In keeping with her wishes a small family service was held at Sunset Cemetery on November 29, 2013.
