David Maxwell Boutilier
Boutilier, David Maxwell - 89, Veteran’s Memorial Building, formally of Middle Stewiacke and Hilden, passed away November 29, 2013. Born in Halifax (Feb. 5, 1924), he was the son of the late Lloyd and Marjorie (Webster) Boutilier. He served in World War II departing to the UK in 1942. He landed on Juno Beach, France July 8, 1944 and served in UK, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He retired from the military in 1966. Dad was always active in the many churches he attended in whatever province he was living in; even in his last weeks he was able to do a reading in the Chapel at the Veteran’s Building. Dad was also very involved in the Eastern Star and had many friends in that organization. He loved to play cards and in this past year he learned to play Bridge. He was always interested in travel and in the last few years made trips to Toronto to see the Toronto Blue Jays and took a cruise from Boston to Bermuda.
Surviving are daughters Susan (Tom), McLellan, Milford Station; Janet (Kevin) Borgel, Hammonds Plains; son, Eric (Janine), Truro; and Son- in-law Darryl Deyarmond (Dana); sisters, Joan, Iris and Essie. Grandchildren: Joelle, David, Julie, Aaron, Janet, Benn, Abby and Jeffrey. He was very proud of his 9 great grandchildren and had a 10th on the way. Dad was predeceased by his eldest daughter Maxine Deyarmond, his first wife Margaret, and his second wife, Shelley; brothers, Bob, Ken, and also Michael at birth; sisters Marg and Virginia.

Cremation has taken place. A service will be held Wednesday, December 4th at 2 p.m. in Middle Stewiacke United Church with Rev. Boyd Vincent officiating; reception to follow in the Church Hall. Memorial donations may be made to the Middle Stewicake United Church or a charity of choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. The family would like to thank the staff on 5W at the Veteran’s Memorial Building (Camp Hill) for their outstanding service and friendship to our father over the past five years.
