WESTCOTT, KENNETH S. - 1929 - 2013 - Miramichi - Kenneth Sydney Wescott, of Eastside Special Care Home, Miramichi and formerly of the Retirement Miramichi Community, passed away at his residence on Monday morning, December 2, 2013, at the age of 84. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (Bette) in 2011. Born in Lewisham, London, England on October 11, 1929, he was the son of the late Sydney V. Wescott. He was a draftsman by trade and a retired employee of Joy Manufacturing Ltd. He was a proud member of the British Royal Navy from 1947-1952 and a member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Miramichi. He is survived by daughter Claire Felicity Beanland (John), of Newbold Verdon England; and son Christopher P. Wescott (Beverley), of Penarth, Wales; three step daughters, Pamela E. Tweedy (Neale), of Mississauga, Ont., M. Jane Rolfe (Ashley), of Greenville, North Carolina, USA, Jocelyn Milner (Mark), of Madison, Wis., USA; two step sons, Gary E. Milner of London, Ont. and Joel E. Milner of Brampton, Ont. , thirteen grandchildren and brother in law, George L. Soper (Mary), of Rothesay, N.B.
By his request there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A public memorial service will be held on a later date in the spring of 2014, at a time to be announced. Interment will be in the Cemetery at Head of Millstream, N.B. beside Elizabeth and her parents. For those wishing, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family wishes to offer special thanks to dear friend Loraine B. Cairns and Eastside Special Care Home for their loving care of Ken over the past three years.
