
Alvin Reginald Curley
Alvin Reginald Curley, aged 73, died peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Monday, December 2, 2013.
Alvin enjoyed a successful and dedicated career in Education and Counselling. He had great compassion for people and always looked for the best in them. He was an avid reader, treasured time with his family, loved the outdoors and enjoyed sports - especially the Montreal Canadiens. He loved music, especially Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins and Stompin' Tom Connors.
Alvin is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marion Curley (nee Bryanton); his daughters, Marisa and Mark Eisner, Bridgewater, N.S.; Sheela Curley, Charlottetown; Margo and Todd Curley-Gallant, Cornwall; and his son-in-law, Todd Woodside, Norboro. Alvin was an exceptional Grampy to Spencer, Becky and Emily Woodside, Noelle Eisner and Alex Curley-Gallant. He is also survived by his sister, Frances Pepper, and sister-in-law, Rose Curley, both of B.C.; sister-in-law, Kay and Edwin Wall, New Annan; brother-in-law, Floyd Bryanton and Faye Coles, Indian River; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Wilfred and Florence (nee MacNeill) Curley, and his siblings, Leeland, Zelma, Glenn, Jean, Walter, Gavin and Paula.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, for visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a Knights of Columbus prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass Thursday at St. Mary's - Holy Family Church, Kensington at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Indian River.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alvin's memory to St. Mary's - Holy Family Church Building Fund or the Prince County Hospital Foundation.
