It is with great sadness that the family of the late Amos S. Patey (1926-2013) announce his passing on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013 at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders at the age of 87 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Maisie of 58 years; daughters Emma (Claude), Christine, Daisy (Francis), and Sadie; one son Derrek (Selma); 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters Mary Samson, Marie (Hebbert), Hepsey House, and Evangeline Samson; brothers Austin (Edith), Joseph (Serena), and Lewis (Linda); sisters-in-law Bessie House, Bertha Patey, and Marjorie Patey; and son-in-law Harvey Patey. He was predeceased by his daughter Faye, son Llewellyn, parents Henry and Susan Patey, brothers Henry Jr., Wilson, Garfield, Clary, and Peter. Visitation took place at St. Peters Anglican Church in River of Ponds on Saturday evening and Sunday from where the funeral service was held on Monday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Paulette Bugden officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix.
