Passed away peacefully, at the Provincial Palliative Care Unit, Monday morning, December 16, 2013, after a brief illness.
Born in Charlottetown in 1950, she was the daughter of the late Wilfrid and Lillian Duffy. She attended Notre Dame Convent, UPEI, and graduated from Queens University. For more than 20 years she was Executive Director of a two non-profit family shelters in Kingston, Ontario.
She is survived by husband and closest friend, Brian Gough; children, Jason Norman and Jennifer Simister (Tyler Naugler); grandchildren, Emma, Maddy and Cate; brothers, Mike (Heather), Peter, Phillip; and sister, Claire Borden (Joe); niece, Miranda (Sean Vanderfluit); nephew, Gavin Duffy (Jane); niece, Stephanie Borden.
Visitation at Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home, Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral mass at St. Dunstan’s Basilica on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Moira may be made to the Provincial Palliative Care Unit.
