Noel Benoit
BENOIT, NOEL J. - Balla Philip, NB - Noel J Benoit 78, left this world for a much better place on Wednesday December 18th, 2013 at the Rexton Lions Nursing Home. Born in Pawtucket, RI he was the son of the late Prudencielle (Rousseau) and the late Noel D Benoit. He was also predeceased by his God mother Rose Pontbriand and her Husband Bob. Noel was enlisted in the US Army and after being honorably discharged he worked as a machinist in the USA until he moved to Canada in the late 70's. He worked for 17 years as an IRS Repair man until he retired in 1996 from O-I Canada (Consumers Glass). His off time was spent with his family on their "Lone B Farm"; he was a “Jack of all trades” and mastered them all. There was nothing he could not do or could not fix. He worked extremely hard all his life to provide for his family and friends and would not hesitate to drop everything to help someone out. For those who have had the rare opportunity to truly know and cherish him knew what lied beneath his sometimes-tough exterior. He was a man of honor and principal who lived his live on his own terms but deep down he was just a soft squishy teddy bear. He will be fondly remember for his devotion to his family and friends, his Johnny Walker Red, his amazing French pancakes, his midnight pizza deliveries and his child like excitement for Christmas that was infectious to all. Noel will be dearly missed by his loving wife Dorothy (Mitchell) of 47 years, the three thorns in his side: Noel (aka: Buddy), Diane (Yves Arsenault), Cathy and his only grandson, Zac (Zachary Arsenault) who was his pride and joy. He also leaves behind special life long friends Mike and Julie Seleski and their children Jeff and Krista (Steve and their son Lucus Heinzig) whom he considered them as his own. He also leaves behind his sister, Rose Marie Richard (Fernand) of Cumberland, RI; a sister in law, Gertie Campbell; Brothers in law, Victor Mitchell and Francis Mitchell (Jackie) as well as many nieces and nephews.
