ALLEN, WILLIAM - William "Bill" Albert Allen, 88, of the Jordan LifeCare Centre and formerly of River Glade, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013 at his residence with family at his side. Born in England, he was a son of the late Raymond and Ellen (Dickins) Allen. He was a retired building contractor and also worked for Co-op Atlanic for twenty-five years. Bill was a member of the River Glade Baptist Church and was a long-time deacon, treasurer and held many other positions. He was a member of the River Glade Seniors, Friends and Neighbours, a longtime pitcher for the River Glade Ball Team and he was also an avid gardener. Survived and sadly missed by his children Ken (Mary) of Salisbury, Doug (Diana) of River Glade, Kathy Hopper (Arnold) of Sussex and Sherry Seely (Grant) of Petitcodiac; grandchildren Jeff, Scott, Troy, Kris, Michael, Eileen and Kirk; thirteen great grandchildren; two great great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by wife Edith and brothers Frank, George and Thomas.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) visiting will be Saturday, December 21 at 1 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Dennis Smith officiating.
