ALLEN, THELMA J. - Thelma J. Allen, 87, of the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville and formerly of Mountain Road, Moncton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21, 2013. Born in Moncton, on August 22, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Walter Hamilton and Greta Berry and the loving wife of Gordon Allen who passed away in 2010. Thelma's greatest joy and legacy was her family, her husband, son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her quiet, patient, thoughtful and loving manner always let them know she was their biggest champion. She devoted her life to them and was equally loved and adored by them all in return. Thelma was an avid knitter, a collector of everything, she made the best hodgepodge and baked beans anyone could imagine, never forgot a birthday, anniversary or special occasion, and was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. Thelma will be sadly missed by her family; son and wife, Gary and Mary; grandchildren, Scott, Krista, Kathy, Amy and their families; great grandchildren, Jody Lynn, Cody, Jessica, Grace, and Crew; half-sisters, Heather Lapierre (late Bob) and Donna Small (Stanley), half-brother, Eldon Hamilton (Joanne). In addition to her parents, Thelma was predeceased by her husband, Gordon and brother, George.
Friends and family may help celebrate Thelma's life at her service on Friday, December 27th, 2013 at 1:30pm. The service will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995). Rev. Ron Maund officiating. Reception following the service in the Funeral Home Reception Centre.
