It is with heavy hearts and fond memories we announce the passing of Annie Redmond, 93, of Glace Bay.
Annie passed away on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at New Waterford Heights where she was a resident for the past year. She was a former resident of Kennedy Drive Complex for many years.
Born in Glace Bay, Annie was the daughter of the late John B. 'Jack' and Florence (MacGregor) Vacheresse.
She was an adherent of Warden United Church. Annie retired after many years employed at Rosenblum’s Ladies Wear, Glace Bay. She was an avid tarabish player. Annie’s passion was spending the summers in her bungalow in Mira Gut with family and friends.
Annie will be sadly missed by her daughter, Donna (Ron) Ferguson, Glace Bay; son, Dale (Joanne) Redmond, Bedford; cherished grandchildren, Lee Ann (Paul Godon), Halifax, Ronda (Paul Chiasson), Glace Bay, Kerry Ann Redmond, Halifax, David Redmond, Red Deer, Alta.; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Dylan and Eden. Also surviving are her many nieces and nephews whom she greatly admired.
Annie was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Besides her parents, Annie was predeceased by her sisters, Kay MacKillop, Florence Lighter, Jennie MacKinnon, brothers, Ralph, Jim, Roland, Blair, Hal, and Gordie.
Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral service will held in January with a date and time to be announced.
