WADMAN, E. HAMILTON (HAMMIE) - E. Hamilton (Hammie) Wadman, 88, of The Veterans Health Unit, Fredericton and formerly of Moncton, with loving family member at his side passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday December 25, 2013. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Louis and Hazel (Morrison) Wadman. Hammie was a retired constable with the City of Moncton Police Department, with 32 years of service. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene Moncton, Past Master of Acacia Lodge # 49, F & AM, member of the Botsford chapter, past First Grand Principal of Grand Chapter of NB and past Worthy Patron of Frank H. Tingley # 5 O.E.S. He was a Veteran of WW II, serving with the Royal Canadian Navy. In past years Hammie was very active in his church, enjoyed curling, working with scouts, traveling, spending winters in Florida with his late wife Florence, playing cards especially cribbage and 45's, an avid supporter of the Ottawa Senators but first and foremost spending precious time with his family. Hammie will be sadly missed by his daughter Mary Hamilton (Bill) of Fredericton, son Kevin Wadman of Fredericton, cherished grandchildren Hannah and Heather Hamilton of Fredericton and Bailey Wadman of Dorchester ON, daughter-in-law Gisele (Wadman) Reid of Saint John, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Hammie was predeceased by his wife Florence (Stewart) Wadman (2006), sons Davies and Garry, brother Scott and daughter-in-law Christine.
Resting at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd., Moncton (858-1995). No visitation hours by request. Funeral Service at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday December 28, 2013 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Gary Cowper officiating. Reception following the service in the Funeral Home Reception center. Interment, St. Martins in the Woods Anglican Church Cemetery, Shediac Cape, in the spring.
