M. Elvena O'Regan

O’REGAN, M. ELVENA - Mary Elvena O’Regan (Baker) passed away peacefully on December 28th, 2013 at the Victoria Glen Manor in Perth-Andover, N.B. at the age of 94. Born on September 6, 1919, in Tilley, N.B.. She was the daughter of the late Stillman Baker and Alice Dee. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, Guy L. O’Regan, her son Shane, brothers, Bernard and Marvin Baker, and her sister Hilda Cormier. She is survived by six children: daughter Maureen Mombourquette (Paul) of Salt Lake City, Utah, sons Barry O’Regan (Camie) of Ottawa, Don O’Regan (Joan) of Saint John, N.B., Shawn O’Regan (Karen) of Perth-Andover, N.B., Keith O’Regan (Suzanne) of Calgary, Alberta and Guy O’Regan (Leanne) of London, Ontario. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Barry, Evan, Karla, Emily, Andrew, Mark, Kendall, Ryan, Sacha and Matthew, nine great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Elvena had an unwavering faith in God and lived her life devoted to both the teachings and practice of that faith. She was a member of The Daughters of Isabella. She had a kind, gentle and humble demeanour and lived her life as an incredible example of her Christian faith. She loved much and asked little. She will be remembered and missed by her family and friends for her cooking, (especially her pies) her devotion, her bottomless heart, her ability to see the good in everything and everyone and her encouragement for others to do the same. Elvena cared deeply for everyone she knew whether family, friend or a member of the community. She was always ready to help others in need. Emulating her kind heartedness, her spirituality and her capacity for forgiveness is a daunting task indeed.
The family will receive friends at the O’Regan Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 between 12 noon and 2:00 p.m. Funeral services and mass celebrating her life will be held on Holy Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Grand Falls, N.B. Interment will be in the Assumption cemetery, next to her deceased husband and her son Shane.
