Elina (Lynne) Boots, nee Huisman, passed away peacefully December 31, 2013 at the age of 88. She was born in Bolsward, the Netherlands, on April 3, 1925, the third youngest of eleven children. On November 3, 1949 she married Rut Boots. They emigrated to Canada with their daughter Vera in 1954, settling in Moose Jaw. Because Rut worked for TransCanada Pipelines they moved often, living near Burstall, Cabri and Moosomin. After raising their children Mom worked in the nursing home in Moosomin. They retired back to Moose Jaw in 1985. Lynne was active with the Catholic Women’s League and other parish activities. Lynne is survived by her husband Rut, daughter Vera LaBelle, granddaughter Tiffany and great-grandson Colten; son Ron (Donna) and children Justin, Ryan, Everett and Nadia; and son Ben (Rosalie) and children Mark (fiancé Joanne Newman), Katherine (Craig) Williams, Sean and David. She is also survived by her brother Frans and numerous relatives in the Netherlands. She was predeceased by a son Jeffrey in 1984, son-in-law Raymond LaBelle in 1999 and two infant children. We would like to extend our gratitude to the staff at Providence Place and all those that came to visit her while she was there. A Prayer Service will be at W.J. Jones & Son Chapel, Moose Jaw, on Thursday January 2, 2014 at 7:00 pm. Lynne’s Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, 1064 Third Ave. NW, Moose Jaw on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Father Rick Krofchek will be the Celebrant. In lieu of flowers a donation to Moose Jaw Right to Life, 107 Main St N, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 0V9 would be sincerely appreciated. In living memory of Lynne, a memorial planting will be made by W.J.
