Janet Parks

PARKS, JANET NADINE - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Janet Parks, loving wife of Tony Parks, announces her passing – heaviness lifted only by the assurance that she is with her Lord and Saviour. She died peacefully at the Chalmers Hospital on January 2, 2014, with her family present. Janet was born May 30, 1969 to Robert and Nadine Grasse, a much loved sister to Jamie and Murray. After graduating from FHS she attended Atlantic Baptist College, graduating with a BA and a major in music. Music played an important part in Janet’s life. It was a gift that she shared in her service to her church and in singing with the Fredericton Ladies Choir. Janet worked for many years doing land titles with the RI Group and in recent years was a partner in TitleCor doing title searches for many local lawyers. Janet married her soulmate, Tony Parks, in 1991 and together they were blessed with two wonderful boys, Gregory, age 15 and Andrew, age 12. In August 2012, shortly before she was diagnosed with cancer, Janet was blessed to be part of a mission trip to Cameroon where her heart was deeply touched by the kindness, love, and generosity of the native people despite their lack of what we Canadians deem essential. Janet is survived by her husband Tony; sons Gregory and Andrew; her parents Robert and Nadine Grasse; her brothers Jamie (Lisa) and Murray (Cindy) Grasse; nieces and nephews Monica, Brittany, Jonathan and Daniel Grasse; her aunts Marguerite (Harry) Flint and Georgina (Arnold) Hayes; Tony’s parents Reuel Parks and Pamela Parks (Pat Donelan); brother Steven Parks and his grandmother Nan Thompson. Thanks to all the Doctors and Nurses who helped Janet at the end of her difficult journey. God bless you all.
Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
