HALSALL, EDNA MARY - It is with great sadness the family announce the death of Edna Mary Halsall of Dipper Harbour, who passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 20, 2013. Born November 10 of 1927 in Yarmouth, NS, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Marie (Morton) Coates. Edna was a devoted mother, nan, sister, aunt and friend; and was a member of the Dipper Harbour Baptist Church. Edna was a talented Seamstress and enjoyed knitting, crafts and alterations. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her children Gerald Halsall of Bellville, ON, Beverley Kipping (Carl) of Long Reach, Darlene Guimond (Jeff) of Saint John, Brian Halsall (Debbie) of Bathurst and Heather Halsall (Rick) of Nerepis, NB; devoted nan to Jennifer, Michelle, Benjamin, Alexander, Geena, Roxanne and Caleb; one sister Hazel West of North Hollywood, California; several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, Edna was predeceased by her husband Frederick Thomas Halsall and several siblings.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). In celebration of Edna’s Life, a receiving of friends will be held at the Fundy Funeral Home, Monday, January 6, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Private family interment to be held at Maces Bay Cemetery at a later date.
