
Barbara Ann Black
Barbara Ann Black, 71, passed away suddenly Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at QEII Halifax Infirmary, N.S.
Barb was born and raised in New Glasgow, N.S. living in Barrington, for the past 47 years of her life. She started working as a CNA 51 years ago in Alberton and Summerside, PEI and later at the Roseway Hospital in Shelburne. She was well known for her kind, caring ways and hard work. Barb was a loyal wife, loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt. She was a strong, kind hearted, strong willed, caring, loving person and those who knew her couldn’t help but love her. Barb enjoyed family and loved being around her grandchildren.
She was the daughter of the late Clem and Irene Garvin.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years Joseph Gary Black; daughters Sherri Black and Jennifer Lloyd; sons Steven Black and John Black; grandchildren: Michelle Brewster, James Macdonald, Mitchell Lloyd, Bradley Lloyd and Johnathan Black; sisters: Betha Fahie, Ruth Bushulak, Marilyn Blackmore, Mary White, and Patrica Garvin; brother Jim Garvin.
She was predeceased by her sister Pam Beal and brothers Joey Garvin and John Garvin.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, January 5th at H.M Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. The funeral service will be held Monday, January 6th 2 p.m. at H.M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington with Father Keith Billard officiating. Burial will be at the Riverdale Cemetery in Riverhead Barrington.
It has been requested that there be family flowers only. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Rosalin Nickerson Care Fund or a charity of your choice.
