JOWETT, RONALD - Ronald Eugene Jowett, husband of the late Vivian May (Spears) Jowett, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing, with his family by his side. Born 1923 in River Hebert, NS he was the son of the late Alfred Rayner and Maude Aletta (Wood) Jowett. In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by his brother Harold Jowett. Ronald was a Veteran of WWII serving as a Stoker 1st Class HMCS Brantford-Strathadam-Bowmanville-Middlesex. He worked as a Sales Representative for H.J. Heinz Company of Canada Ltd. for 30 years, retiring in 1981. He was an active member of Edith Avenue Baptist Church, Albion Lodge #1 Free and Accepted Masons and Past Patron of the Order of Eastern Star # 18. He was an active member of GoodLife Parkway, until July of 2013. He will be sadly missed by his son Ronald E. Jowett (Joyce) of Saint John, daughter Candace Boyle (Neil) of Saint John and son Rayner A. Jowett (Miley) of Brandon, Manitoba; grandchildren Josselyn, Joel, Benjamin, Nicholas, Charmane, Crystal, Tracey, Stephen and Ethan; great grandchildren Lily, Adelynn, Elliot, Leeland, Cale, Liam, Baliey, Connor and Layla; sisters Muriel Trask of River Hebert, NS and Dorothy Glenwright of Geary, NB; and several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Wednesday, January 8 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
