Sharon Elizabeth Pitre

1967-2008 To live is Christ, to die is gain. After a well fought, long battle with cancer, Sharon found her healing in eternity on October 15, 2008, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family and many friends. Sharon leaves her husband of 18 years, Claude; her children: Timothy, 13, Andrew, 11, and Naomi, 8. to live in her memory. Sharon is also survived by her mother, Barb Chapman of Williams Lake, B.C.; and her sister, Leah (Dale) Verhaeghe of Penticton, B.C.; Claude’s family: Al and Yvonne Pitre of Richmond, P.E.I.; Mike (Christine) Pitre, Maurice (Jennifer) Pitre, Donna Pitre (Dave Millar) of St. Timothée, P.E.I.; and Jean-Guy (Dawne) Pitre as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Sharon was predeceased in 1994 by her father, Bud Chapman. Sharon was born on September 26, 1967, in Williams Lake, B.C. She moved to Prince George, B.C., in 1988, where she met and married her husband and started her family. Sharon moved her family to Red Deer, Alta., in 1999. Sharon’s unwavering faith-filled battle with two difficult cancers began in 2006, and inspired the thousands of lives that she touched through this season. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend, who enriched and changed our lives each and every day. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2008, at 3 p.m. at the Mont Carmel Parish Hall in Mont Carmel, P.E.I. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Sharon’s memory to the Central Alberta Cancer Centre, Bag 5030, Red Deer, Alta., T4N 6R2.
