Burrell Sedric “Burly” Church, age 72, of Vaughans, Hants County, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on February 27, 1941, in Windsor, he was the son of late Annie R. Church. Burly was retired from UMACS of Dartmouth, formerly called Tailsman Equipment, where he was a driver and welder. In retirement, he loved junking. Burly is survived by his companion, Louise Morine; son, Stephen (Karen) Church, Wile Settlement; Gabriel Church, Vaughans; son-in-law, Alan Schofield, Vaughans; grandchildren, Alan Schofield; Troy, Blair and Emily Church; his former wife, Rhonda Church, Maisonette, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his mother, he was predeceased by his first wife, the former Lena Sherman; son, Blair Church; daughter, Debbie Schofield; sister, Helen Levy. Visitation was 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home (902-798-2232), 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral service was 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2014, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ellen Hunt officiated, followed by a reception at the family home.
