Gladys Thomson

Passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital. Gladys, at the age of 95, was predeceased by her parents, brother, and granddaughter. She will be missed by her daughter Bonnie, granddaughter Shauna, and great-grandsons Ethan and Jarod. Lovingly remembered by her cousins, and numerous friends. Gladys was born on May 20, 1918 to Joe and Gertie Phillips in Woodrow, SK. She grew up on the family farm and attended a country school in the region, graduating with grade 12. She was married to Bert Thomson on March 2, 1940. The couple continued to farm until she was 50. She then moved to Assiniboia where she worked several different vocations until moving to Moose Jaw in 1979. She worked at the Cosmo Centre until she was 65. Gladys loved her family, enjoyed cooking and was an avid bridge player. She entertained both friends and family in her home on 9th Ave until 2005 when she moved to Heritage Place, and then spent the last two years at Chateau St Michaels. Donations made in memory of Gladys to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 279 3rd Ave N, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 2H8 would be appreciated. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 1:30 pm at Minto United Church, 1036 7th Ave NW, Moose Jaw, with interment at Rosedale Cemetery.
