Theresa Patricia Phillippo passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Jan. 12, 2014, at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Center.
Born Aug. 6, 1936, in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Wassilaskus.
Theresa was an avid member of the CWL and helped to raise countless foster children along with her own seven children, 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is survived by one sister, Shirley Garnier.
Left to morn her passing are her sons, Gerald (Melanie), Raymond (Denise); daughters, Sherry her guardian angel, Glenda (Robbie), Connie (David), Janice (Wayne) and Kimberley; her 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by the love of her life Maurice and brother Joseph.
There will be no visitation and a celebration of her life will be held Thursday, Jan. 16 at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church with Fr. Doug Murphy officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery at a later date.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Mira Bay staff at Harbourstone who made our mothers day, dancing, singing and always trying to keep a smile on her face.
Special thanks also to the Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
