STELLARTON – Sarah Hutt, age 92 of Cambey Ave., Stellarton, passed away on Wednesday, January 15th, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Scotland, she was a daughter of the late Neil and Kathleen (MacLaine) MacLean.
Sarah was a war bride having arrived in Canada in 1946. She was a veteran of WWII and was a member of the former Hopewell Legion. She was a resident of Stellarton since 1949. During her working career she worked at various restaurants and retired from the Met lunch counter in the Aberdeen Mall. Sarah was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church and a member of the War Bride Association.
Surviving are her son Malcolm (Susan) Hutt, Pictou Landing; a grandson Jamie (Beth) Hutt-Semple, Truro; great grandchildren, Brett and Julia; a sister Annie Imrie, Perth, Scotland; daughter-in-law Marguerite Kilburn, Braeshore; chosen daughters: Joan Underwood, Rita Baudoux, Ruth Green; special friends Anne Green and Rose Rundle.
She was predeceased by a son Philip and a sister Rachael.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at 11 a.m. from Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Sarah may be made to the Palliative Care Society of the Aberdeen Hospital.
