STEELE, SUSIE - Susie Merle Steele, loving wife of Charles Steele, passed peacefully away on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1935 in Clovertown, NL she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Annie (Parsons) Sparks. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by step-mother Viola; sister Yvonne and brother Winston. Susie graduated from Grace General Hospital School of Nursing St. John’s, NL in 1957, receiving her degree in nursing. She worked as a nurse in Halifax, Ottawa, Whitehorse, Edmonton and Saint John. She was an avid gardener, enjoying many hours in her gardens. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 55 years, Charles; brothers Hubert Sparks (May), Wayne Sparks (Donna) and Drexel Sparks (Nancy) all of Clovertown, NL; sisters Janet Lewis (Perry) of Dartmouth, NS and Gail Farrell (Ed) of Clovertown, NL; several nieces and nephews.
By request there will be no visitations. A memorial service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2 p.m., followed by a reception.
