Larry Brian Fynn was born on August 16, 1940 in Edmonton, Alberta an only child for Isabelle (Biddy) and George (Buster) Fynn. Larry was a very devoted son and was mutually loved and enjoyed by his parents. Most of Larry’s life was spent in the trucking industry which he started at 14 years of age when he lied to get his first job. Buster supported his passion for trucking and bought him his first truck when Larry was 16 years old. Larry went on to be the co-founder of the successful trucking company L.A.N.D. He was able to retire at an early age and directed the majority of his time and energy to community projects all the while successfully farming. Some of his community involvement was: as President with the Dawson Creek Golf and Country Club and accomplished the building of the driving range enjoyed by many; President of the Pouce Coupe Community Foundation, with the development of the Riverview Cemetery Columbarium; Alderman of Pouce Coupe, and more recently until his illness the Mayor of Pouce Coupe Village. Larry will always be remembered for his many strong leadership qualities, always a voice of reason and one you could count on to get the job done. Larry was a hard worker and wouldn’t ask anyone to do more than he would. Over the years his wisdom and council was enjoyed by both his family, and friends.
Larry passed away on December 9, 2013 in Dawson Creek, British Columbia at 73 years of age. A celebration of life service was held on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 1:00pm at the Pouce Coupe Community Centre, Pouce Coupe, British Columbia. Peggy Bergeron officiated. Larry was cremated and inurnment will be held at a later date in the Riverview Cemetery, Pouce Coupe, British Columbia. Larry is predeceased by his parents Buster and Biddy Fynn and stepdaughter Carol Yaeger. Larry will be forever remembered by his wife Dolly Fynn, children: Robert (Cindy), Dan (Cheri), Margaret (Aaron), Brad (Barb), Lori (Tim), Lisa; as well as his 9 grandchildren Nicole, Carlee, Kyle, Shawn, Jennifer, Kristopher, Jenna, Macy, and Kevin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was always concerned about the children having to cross the highway to and from school so it is only fitting that expressions of sympathy be made by donation to The Village of Pouce Coupe for a ‘Speed Reader Sign’ for the Elementary School Zone P.O. Box 190 Pouce Coupe, British Columbia V0C 2C0.
Arrangements were entrusted to Bergeron Funeral Services & Crematorium Ltd.
