The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I., on Thursday, October 23, 2008, of Elaine Mary (Sis) Bergeron (nee Companion) of Summerside, age 74 years. Sis was born in Murray Road, P.E.I., on August 12, 1934, to her late parents, Mike and Thelma (nee Fitzgerald) Companion. Beloved mother of Marilyn (Brian) MacDonald of Ingersol, Ont., Donna (Andrew) Gallant of Wellington and Michael (Peggy) Coolican of Hopatcong, N.J. Also lovingly remembered by her 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survived by her sister, Roberta (Donald) Perry and her brother, Bobby (Carol) Companion, all of Ontario. Besides her parents, Sis was predeceased by her brother, Billy Companion; her sister, Olive Arsenault; and her first husband, Joseph Martin. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, until Saturday, October 25, for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours on Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations in Sis’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
