HENDERSON, John Burton – 78, Truro, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2014, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born December 28, 1935, in Bayhead, Colchester County, he was a son of the late Russell and Doris (Tattrie) Henderson. John enjoyed his morning visits to Jim’s Barber Shop to see Pidge and the boys and many will remember him from his years spent working at the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition. He also enjoyed Western movies and a great hockey game with the Leafs. John is survived by his sons, John (Bonny), Salmon River; Jeff, Truro; grandchildren, Natasha and Christina, Truro; great grandson, Ethan; brothers, Danny (Margot), Salmon River; Gordie (Anne), Bible Hill; Roy (Starr), Hilden; former wife, Shirley Henderson, Truro; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Randall in infancy. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where John’s family will receive friends from 1 – 1:45 p.m., Monday, January 27, 2014, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., Reverend Brian DeLong officiating.
