Charles Jack Stuart

The passing of Charles "Jack" Stuart, loving husband of 53 years to Lillian (nee Rattray) Stuart, occurred at the QEII Hospital in Halifax, N.S., on Thursday, January 23, 2014 as a result of injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family.
Born in Cambridge, Mass., on February 19, 1935, he was the son of the late Elizabeth Townsend (Dingwell) and Charles Edward Stuart. He served two years with the US Navy. He was an active member in the Masonic Lodge, Shriners and the Eastern Star.
He is survived by his dedicated wife, Lillian; loving children, Robert (Kathleen) Stuart, Steven (Michelle) Stuart, Lisa (Daniel) Campbell; and his sister, Phyllis Mehrman. "Grampy Jack" is also survived by his adoring grandchildren, Crystal (Douglas Urness) Prins, Mae Stuart, Chelsey Stuart, Tara (Daniel) Stemkoski, Trisha (Michael Parsons) Campbell and Toria Campbell; his great-grandchildren, Leah Clow, Jackson Urness, Gwen Urness, Aria Stemkoski; numerous nieces, nephews and greatnieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his grandson, Robert Charles Stuart, and brothers-in-law, Jerome Mehrman, Donald Lamont and Sterling Rattray.
Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home with visiting hours on Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 27, 2014 from St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Cardigan, at 2 p.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Jack's name may be to the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Building Fund or the Shriners Children's Hospital would be appreciated. St. Andrews Masonic Lodge #13 Montague will hold a Masonic Service on Sunday, January 26, 2014, following the visiting hours at the funeral home at 9 p.m.
