LaFOREST, ROGER - With sadness the family announces the passing of Roger Raymond LaForest, which occurred on Monday, January 27, 2014 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born 1945 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Noé Jean and Cecile (Perreault) LaForest. Roger was employed many years in the maintenance department for Irving Paper and was a member of Local 601 North. He was also a member of the Adanac Club, RCL Branch #2, Saint John City District Darts and the Fundy Trail Beagle Club. Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bonfires with friends and neighbours, but he especially enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Joan (Leslie) LaForest; sons Raymond (Claudette) of Grand Bay-Westfield and Steven (Tania) of Fredericton; daughter Denise (Ricky) Comeau of Quispamsis; brother Adrian (Grace) of Elliott Lake, ON; grandchildren Alex, Stephanie, Ryan and Addison; several nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, visitation will be held at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to the IWK Cardiac Unit, Bobby’s Hospice or Community Autism Centre Inc. www.fundyfuneralhome.com
