John Patrick Tighe, 61, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at New Waterford Consolidated Hospital.
Born in New Waterford, he was a son of the late John James 'Jackie' and Aiden Rebecca 'Becky' (Laffin) Tighe.
He was member of the Local 682 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union in Sydney for 42 years until his retirement. He enjoyed music, playing his guitar and working on cars but most of all, loved his family. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends but we know he will be in a better place.
Surviving are his wife Annette Tighe; daughters, Angela Vanessa Tighe (Eric Bond), Rachael (Leonard) MacLean; the light of his life whom he loved with all his heart, granddaughter Alexis Tighe; brothers, Peter Tighe, Wayne Tighe, Jackie Tighe, Tommy Tighe; sister Donna Tighe.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Terry, Christopher ‘Chrissy’ and sister, Diane.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 30 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation.
