CHRISTENSEN, MARY - At Victoria Glen Manor, Perth-Andover, January 26, 2014, Mrs. Mary Christensen of Grand Falls (Portage) passed away at the age of 91 years. She was the wife of the late A. Bruce Christensen. Born at Wainwright, Alberta in 1922, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Margaret (MacKenzie) Aitken. Mrs. Christensen was a veteran of World War II as she served as a nurse in the Royal Army Medical Corps posted at York, England. For the past several years, she was a member of the former All Saints Anglican Church of Grand Falls. She is survived by two children, Marlene Gibbs of Grand Falls and Robert "Bob" (and his wife Marilyn) Christensen of Ottawa.
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Sunday, February 2nd from 2 to 4 p.m. and Monday, February 3rd, from 1 to 2 p.m. Her funeral service will be held from O'Regan's Funeral Home on Monday, February 3rd at 2 p.m. with Rev. Amanda Longmoore officiating. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery of Grand Falls. For those who wish, donations to the Alzheimer Society, the Grand Falls Regional Food Bank or the local S.P.C.A. would be appreciated by the family. Please note that there will not be any visiting hours Sunday evening.
