RITCHIE, GREG W. - Gregory Wayne Ritchie (Greg) of Riverview, passed away Wednesday January 29, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at The Moncton Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Scott and Annie (Irving) Ritchie. For the last 9 years Greg was a franchise dealer for Snap On Tools, prior to which he was employed with Hub Meat Packers for 23 years. In his earlier years he was an avid dart player and loved watching sports on television, most of all his beloved Toronto Blue Jays or Toronto Maple Leafs. For Greg his family was his life, Poppy was a very proud and loving grandfather. He enjoyed watching his girls bowl and his grandchildren play hockey and basketball, most of all those family trips down south (yes all eleven of us). His family and friends, in particular Robert and Susan are left with fond memories of get togethers, barbeques, pool parties. He will forever be in the hearts of his loving wife, Carol Ritchie (Carter) of 44 years, daughters; Stacy Cole (Danny) of Turtle Creek, Kelly Stoyles (Todd) of Upper Coverdale, Tanya Ritchie of Riverview; sisters; Mina Steeves of Petitcodiac; Sheila Lund of Quispamsis; Jean Allen (Herman) of Moncton; Prudence Harmer (Bill) of Havelock; Carole Hendy (Ron) of Riverview; and Donna Steeves (Charles) of Mississauga; a granddaughter, Brett; and three grandsons, Billy, Gregory and Tyler, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Greg was predeceased by brothers Vernon, Lloyd and Scott; and his sister, Audrey.
The family will be receiving friends and relatives at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869-2007) on Saturday from 1 to 4pm & 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held from Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at 2pm with Rev. David Evans officiating.
