Margaret Teresa (Peggy) Keough

Passed on: October 25th, 2008

With much sadness we received notice of the sudden passing of (Peggy) Margaret Teresa Keough on Saturday, October 25, 2008, age 83 years, at the Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto, Ontario, following a short illness. Peggy was a member of the Canadian Women's Army Corps (CWAC) during the Second World War and a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force Peacetime Corps for five years, three of which were served in France. She worked for Domtar for 29 years in accounts, retiring in 1990, and prior to that in accounts for Eaton's and General Foods. While in good health she enjoyed an active social life and had many friends throughout. Spending vacation time with her family in Charlottetown was special and her annual trips to P.E.I. were always looked forward to by everyone. A very special thank-you to Rhoda for your years of friendship and caring for Peggy. Peggy will be lovingly and fondly remembered and sadly missed by niece, Connie (nee Cullen) (Louie) Gauthier; special friend and companion, Rhoda Burns of Toronto; great-nieces and nephew, Nancy Scott (Billy), Lynn Gauthier (predeceased), Jo-Anne Gauthier (Troy), and Justin Gauthier (Szarina); great-great-nieces and nephews, Rae-Ann, Amy and Jessica Scott, Joshua Gauthier, Sami Jo and Chad Wilson, Kevin, Emily and Ryan Gauthier; and great-great-great-nephew, Logan McFarlane; along with life-long friend, Shirley (late Joe) Hennessey and families. Peggy was predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Elizabeth Keough, and adoptive brother, Paul Keough. A memorial service will be held in the spring, date and time to be announced later, followed by interment in the family plot at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. Completion of funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Hennessey Funeral Home.
