McDONALD, STEPHEN - The death of Stephen Dennis McDonald occurred at his home on Saturday, February 1st, 2014. Born in New Glasgow, NS, he was the son of the late John and Christina (Fleming) McDonald. Stephen spent his working days as a military man, having served in both the Black Watch and the Royal Canadian Regiment. He was also a lifelong member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 93). Stephen loved the simple life, tinkering in his garage or stopping at the local pub. He loved his dogs and could be seen numerous times a day out walking with them. Stephen is survived by his partner Helen Gallant of Harvey, York Co.; his son Stephen McDonald (Lee) of Dartmouth, NS; daughters Pam McDonald and Wendy Wilcox, both of Toronto, ON; stepdaughter Carolyn Connors Rosborough of Fredericton, NB; 12 wonderful grandchildren and special companions Bear, Champ and Kitty. In addition to his parents, Stephen was predeceased by his 1st wife Thelma (Gay) and brothers Ned and Ray.
Resting at the Oromocto Funeral Home with visitation on Tuesday, February 4th, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm, with a Legion Tribute Service commencing at 5:45 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, February 5th, 2014 at 11:00 am from St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Oromocto, NB. Interment in the St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery will take place in the spring. Donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. www.oromoctofh.com
