It is with great sadness that the family of Walter Chafe announce his sudden and unexpected passing at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's, on February 2, 2014, aged 66 years. Predeceased by his parents Walter and Flora (Foote) and his sister Annie. Leaving to mourn: his loving wife of 41 years, Gloria (Phelan); children: Kevin (Cheryl), Tammy (Scott), Flora (Scott), Darlene (Dave), and Stephen (Kayla); grandchildren: Alysha, Desmond, Brandon, Ashley, Dakota, Madison, Alyssa, and Marissa-Kay; sisters: Lucy (Willy), Emily, and brother Noel (Tina); stepmother Susanna; special mother in law, Ruby Phelan; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Special thank you to all the staff at the Health Sciences Centre (ICU), especially to nurses Anne Marie, Sherry, and Dr. Lisa Kenny for their support and compassion. Walter?s generosity will live on through his special gift of organ donation. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John's, with visitation on Wednesday, Feb 5th and Thursday, Feb 6th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service to take place at St. David's Presbyterian Church, Elizabeth Avenue on Friday, February 7th, at 11 am. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
