MACPHERSON, ROBERT “WAYNE” - Dec 14, 1945 - Jan 30, 2014 - Wayne passed away in North Carolina, USA, at the age of 69. He went by the name of "Wayne" to all Canadians that knew him, but he was "Bob" to all his American friends and comrades. Wayne attended local schools in Moncton and Moncton High School. Just as we was to go in to Grade 11, he decided to visit relatives in California. He never returned to live in Moncton again. He joined the American Army at age 18 having been accepted in R.O.T.C. He retired as Lieutenant-Colonel having served two tours in Vietnam at the height of that war. He stayed in the army and served his country for 23 years at various postings around the world. He was an excellent athlete while in Moncton, especially in the hockey world. He was one of the smaller players but very fast, and played with men much older and larger. Wayne is survived by his wife Wanda, and son Danny, plus his mother Joyce Cheney (Nee MacPherson), his stepfather, Bill Cheney, 3 sisters and 1 brother. All members of his immediate family reside in California. He is also survived by Frank MacPherson of Moncton and Donald MacPherson of Parksville, BC.
