It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sidney William Oake announce his passing on Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Western Memorial Hospital in his 77 th year. He will be sadly missed with fond and ­loving memories by his wife, Mildred (nee Baker); children: Chula Oake of Cormack and Shawn (Kelly) of Alberta; his grandsons: Johnathon, Rocky (Melissa) and Christopher; his siblings: Lorne (Geraldine), Irma (Milton) Caines, Grace Garland, all of Cormack, Sue (Gus) Petten of Bay Roberts, Eleanor (Doug) Tustin, Melena Greenley, Gayle (John) Cartwright, Guy (Bev), Peter Oake of Ontario, Russell (Jean), Ina (Frank) Corrad; brother-in-law, Bob Carroll and sister-in-law Connie Oke; also a large circle of neices, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, John & Harriett Oake; siblings: Winston Oake, Ina Oake, Ronald (Os) Oke and Nellie Carroll. Visitation will take place from Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 Northmain Street, Deer Lake on Sunday, February 9th, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where also the funeral service will take place on Monday at 2:00 p.m. with cremation to follow at Sidney’s request.
