Peacefully and surrounded by her family and close friends at the Souris Hospital on Thursday, October 30, 2008, of Eileen Bernadette Carter (nee Conway) of Souris, age 68 years. Beloved wife of Henry W. Carter. Loving mother to Janice (Andrew) Gallant, Lisa and Stephen, all of Souris. Daughter-in-law to Lillian Carter. Loving Nanny to Dustin and Dawson. Dear sister to Lornie (Tootsie) Conway, Marion Arsenault (Kenny), Helen (Richard) Roach, Susie (Mervin) Keefe, Jimmy (Wendy) Conway, Vernon Conway (Doris), Francis Cheverie (Phyllis); sister-in-law, Lorna Conway; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by brother- and sisters-in-law, Ester (Francis) Laybolt, Louis (Rita) Carter, Anne Marie (Reggie) Laybolt, Isabel MacKenzie (Lindsay), Kathleen Carter (David), Archie (Marie) Carter, Charlie Carter (Mary), Francis (Jennifer) Carter, Joe (Rhonda) Carter and Brian (Heike) Carter. Predeceased by parents, Albert and Susan (nee Whalen) Conway; sister, Mary Ellen McVane; and brother, Francis Conway. Resting at the Dingwell Funeral Home, Souris, for visiting hours on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Monday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Funeral to be held Monday morning from St. Mary’s Church, Souris, with funeral mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery.
