The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Thursday, October 30, 2008, of “Lloyd” Cecil Chester Gorrill of Miscouche, and formerly of Summerside, P.E.I., age 65 years. Lloyd was born on January 30, 1943 in St. Eleanors, P.E.I., to his late parents, Ernest and Elva (nee Stewart) Gorrill. Beloved husband of Gladys (nee Doucette) Gorrill and loving father of Donna Gorrill of Sask., Debbie Coughlin (Jimmy Dawson) of Summerside and Scott of Halifax, N.S. Also lovingly remembered by his four grandchildren, Jeremy Coughlin (Stacey Arsenault), Josh and Jessica Coughlin and Chad McCormick; his great-grandson, Trace Coughlin; his sons-in-law, Tommy McCormick and Leonard Coughlin; along with several nieces and nephews. Survived by his sisters, Jean Parnham of Summerside; his brothers, Alvin (Sally) of Truro, N.S.; and Robert (Linda) of Ottawa, Ont.; and his sister-in-law, Diane Gorrill of River Herbert, N.S. Besides his parents, Lloyd was predeceased by his sister, Marion Crowe, and his brother, Harold Gorrill. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Monday, Nov. 3, then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery. Visiting hours on Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations in Lloyd's memory to St. John the Baptist Church or Port Hill Anglican Church Restoration Funds or the Oncology Unit of the Prince County Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
