RAMIER, CHARLES "ROY" - The death of Mr. Charles “Roy” Ramier husband of the late Ivy Ruth (Simpson) Ramier of Miramichi, NB, occurred on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 92. Born in Port Daniel West, PQ he was the son of the late James W. and Doris J. (Smith) Ramier. Roy was a retired manager of the carload and express center with CNR. He was a member of the Good Samaritan Lodge AF & AM # 68, New Carlisle, PQ, member of the Order of the Eastern Star Miramichi Chapter #44, a Past Patron of the former Prince Andrew Chapter # 42. He enjoyed carpentry and music. Roy is survived by: one daughter: Elaine I. MacLean of Fredericton, NB; two sons: Blaine R. (Gail) of Williams Lake, BC; Wayne C. (Kim) of Bedford, NS; one sister: Ethel Domingue of Burlington, ON; two brothers: John (Joyce) of Douglastown, NB; Bill (Pat) of Williams Lake, BC; five grandchildren: Robert Ramier, Tricia Ramier, Lesley McGuire, Christina and Justin Ramier; five great grandchildren: Haley, Dane, Saphira, Madyson, Jordan Ann and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife he is predeceased by: three sisters: Bernice Callihoo, Marjorie Ripplinger and Greta Howard.
The family will receive visitors at the Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel on Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 1 to 1:45 PM followed by an Eastern Star Service with the funeral service following at 2:15 PM with Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight officiating. Burial will take place in the Miramichi Cemetery later in the spring. In Roy’s memory, donations may be made to the SPCA or to a memorial of one’s choice.
