Denise Beaubien
Passed on: February 9th, 2014
Early on Sunday morning of February 9, 2014, Denise Beaubien was warmly received by her family – some of whom she had not seen since she was much younger. Her parents Napolean and Marie; her brothers Leo and Roger; and her sisters Cecile and Agnes. Over a game of cards and a beverage or two, one can only imagine the catching up they would have to do after having left St. Victor, SK. where they were born and raised. They all married, had children and grandchildren and went on to live happy lives. Also on hand to welcome Denise to her new home would be numerous other family and friends, long not seen but never forgotten by Denise. Vic and Vi would be pleased to hear that the tradition of Christmas tree decorating has continued for 37 years and counting. Darren, Nikki and Stacey and their families continue to contribute to the creation of fond memories as our families trudge from house to house to decorate carefully picked trees. Ever so sad to see Denise move on is her husband Laval. She spotted him in church many years ago and declared to the cousin sitting next to her that Laval was going to be hers. And hers he was. In what can only be described as a beautiful love story they married and went on to enjoy 52 years of marriage – much of it still a honeymoon. They forged a life together packed with those necessary ingredients for a great life – love, laughter, friends and family. Ringing in the New Year was forever altered with the birth of their daughter, Colette. Denise and Colette shared not only a great mother-daughter relationship but a wonderful and beautiful friendship as well. For this, Denise will be truly missed. Sad to see Denise go is her son-in-law, Brian. Christmas shopping for Brian will never be the same without Denise and her special shopping formula: shop for 1 hour; go to the pub for 2 hours. A budding relationship cut short was with Brian’s children Michelle and Terrance and their partners Jody and Laura. Denise and Laval also had a son, Mike. Denise and her son enjoyed a kind of relationship where they had each other’s’ back. Mike’s wife Cindy will miss her conversations with Denise that often revolved around jewelry and purses. Also mourning Denise’s passing is Cassandra and her partner Colton. Little Tamika may come to miss getting special treats from ‘ma tante’. While there are many other friends who will miss Denise, particular mention needs to go to the Clarks. What a special and long lasting friendship this has been. A Prayer Service for Denise will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 7.00pm at W.J. Jones Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St E., Moose Jaw. Our family would also like you to join us for a Service of Remembrance on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 2:30 pm as we pay tribute to a wonderful and vivacious woman. Father Rick Krofchek will preside. For those wishing to make a donation in Denise’s name, please give to Moose Jaw Home Care. In living memory of Denise, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Funeral Home. Please sign the memorial register at website: www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries).
