
Marilyn Marsh (nee Leckie)

R.N., B.N., M.Ed. (August 12, 1932 - February 11, 2014) - After living life to the fullest, Marilyn Marsh, formerly of Sarnia, Ontario, passed peacefully away on Monday, February 11, 2014, at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, at age 81 years. A retired Nursing Instructor, Marilyn was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her - mentoring young professionals to the end. Predeceased by her loving husband and best friend Baxter Marsh (2001); parents: Gilbert and Emma Leckie; brother Gibb; and sisters: Shirley & Colleen. Leaving to celebrate her life: sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, and a very wide circle of loving and supportive friends, neighbors and acquaintances - too numerous to mention. Special thank you to Dr. Roger Butler and the Ross family medicine team at the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre, as well as a supportive team of many medical specialists who saw her through many crisis and restored her to exuberant living again. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Thursday, February 13, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm, and on Friday, February 14, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held from Cochrane Street United Church on Saturday, February 13, 2014, at 12:30pm, with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Marilyn's memory may be made to the Marilyn Marsh Alumni Award c/o Memorial University.
