TONER, OWEN - At Victoria Glen Manor, Perth-Andover, February 14, 2014, Mr. Owen Toner of Grand Falls (Portage) passed away at the age of 85 years. He was married to the former Clarinda McGraw. Born at Grand Falls in 1929, he was a son of the late William H. and Mamie (West) Toner. He is survived by his wife, daughter Sandra Toner (Dan) of Ottawa, five sons, Peter (Maureen Beckwith) of Saint John, Danny (Helene), Ronnie and Donnie (Sherry), all of Grand Falls and Leo of Halifax, seven grandchildren, Samantha Joanne, Timothy, Sheldon, James, Julie, Sara Lee and Dylan, two great grandchildren, Owen and Olivia Rose, one brother, Clarence (Huguette) of Grand Falls, four sisters, Sister Ada Toner of the Sisters of Charity of Fort Saskatchewan, AB, Ellen Sherman (Ed) of Fort Fairfield, ME, Betty Doak (Ron) of Westbrook, ME and Theresa Stoddard of California, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Lisa in 2001, siblings Cletus and Joyner Toner, Grace Grant, Bernadine McGrath and Sister Elaine Toner.
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. His funeral service will be held Monday, February 17th at 11 a.m. from St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Grand Falls (Portage) with interment in the adjoining cemetery. For those who wish, donations to the Alzheimer Society or the St. Patrick's Church would be appreciated by the family. www.oregans.ca
