McLAUGHLIN, CONWAY FLOYD - 1922 - 2014 - It is with deep sadness that the family of Conway Floyd McLaughlin, 92, of Hillsborough, N.B, announce his peaceful passing at the Moncton City Hospital on February 14th, 2014, after suffering a stroke. Conway was born in Hillsborough, N.B, on January 1st, 1922, the eldest child of W. Lewis and Thelma May (Steeves) McLaughlin. He graduated from Hillsborough High School and continued his education at college in Fredericton prior to joining the RCAF from 1941-1946 serving in WWII. Following the war he worked in the trucking industry until he was employed with DeLaval Canada. After the closure of their Moncton plant he worked at Canadian Liquid Air until his retirement in 1981. He enjoyed music of every kind- playing some fiddle, guitar, harmonica and piano. He loved singing and playing at kitchen parties shared with his musical friends and family; he loved long drives in Albert County, especially the back roads to Alma; puttering on his land and around the house; but most of all he loved his family, sharing his kind and gentle soul with each generation and reminding the family of what was really important in life. He was a a true role model of what a Husband, Dad and Nampy should be. He has gone to be with his special blue eyed girl, Kaye, on Valentines Day. He will be deeply missed by his children, Jim McLaughlin (Sue), Linda Fullerton, Debby Roach (Gord) and son, Dale McLaughlin; his treasured grandchildren, Linda's children, Sherri Baxter (Steve), Sean Fullerton (Linda), Trevor Fullerton (Denise); Jim's children - Lisa Gallant (Paul), Julie Asiron (Pablo); Debby's children- Michael Roach (Heather), Chris Roach and Meghann Roach and by his thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; one great- great grandson soon to be born; sister-in-law, Hazel Steeves. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Kathleen "Kaye" (Steeves) McLaughlin in November of 2013; brother, Russell "Bob" McLaughlin; sisters, Violet "Auntie Ted" and Mildred "Auntie Babe". Con was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
