Dora McEachreon

Passed on: February 14th, 2014

McEACHREON, DORA - Dora McEachreon, 99, of Moncton, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2014. Born in Bouctouche, she was the daughter of the late Benoit and Marie (Daigle) Poirier. Dora was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Dora will be sadly missed by her loving children, Donald "Don" McEachreon (Andrea) of Moncton, John McEachreon (Johanne) of Fords Mills; daughter, Eleanor Cormier (Jack) of Lakeville; grandchildren, Melanie Hansen (Grant), Michelle Williams (Keith), Drew Cormier; and great grand-daughter, McKayla. Dora was predeceased by her husband John McEachreon (1994), siblings, Leo, Danny, Henry, Bernard, Eleanor, Madeline, Ann, Natalie and Emerise. Dora loved to have fun and delighted in the opportunity to evoke laughter in others. In earlier years, she cherished spending time by the water, working in her garden and figure skating. Singing was once one of her favourite pastimes. She loved to bake and was well known for her lemon and apple pies. A devout Catholic, she was a member of the St. Augustine's Parish for many years. All who knew her, especially her grandchildren, will fondly remember Dora. She adored her grandchildren. Some of their cherished memories spent with her, were times spent playing dress-up, sharing stories, going to Centennial Park, skating, laughing and spending special time together. They were always happy and ready to go on new adventures and create new memories when they visited Nana or Nana came to visit them. Dora's family were her life. The endless unfailing love, joy and support she gave to her family, leaves a lasting admiration for her in their lives. She was a gentle soul who was always there and willing to help in any way she could when called upon. Those who knew her held her in high regard. People always referred to her a sweet and gentle lady with a kind and loving heart.
